Tools For A New Earth
"I am totally amazed at the
effectiveness of the Affirmation
Enhancer. After Anita did an
emotional clearing on me for a
very difficult experience I was
going through, she then used
the Affirmation Enhancer to
replace the old limiting beliefs.
I felt such an enormous shift I
could not believe it! The whole
process of releasing fears and
old patterns blocking my ability
to move on in life in a positive
way and replacing those with
new positive beliefs with the
Affirmation Enhancer has
completely changed my life!
I feel like a completely different
person, without all my fears and
insecurities. It is an
unbelievably incredible process
that I would never have thought
possible had I not gone through
it myself! "

EXPLORING EFT - THE EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE

The Mind-Body Connection
Researchers have made monumental advances in their understanding that the mind and
body operate as a single unit some simply call, ”bodymind.” Some of these pathways linking
mind and body are well-known. “Ennervation” refers simply to the nerves that extend out
from the spinal cord and into the organs and tissues of the body, providing a two-way flow of
electrical information.
Besides ennervation, another mind-body pathway is biochemical. Researchers have found
that if you change an individual’s biochemistry, this can result in a coorelated change in
emotions, thoughts, and mental state. Similarly, a change in mental-emotional state
produces a release by the body of specific “molecules of emotion” as former NIH researcher,
Candace Pert, PhD describes them. Every emotion in the pallete of human emotion has a
cooresponding endorphin, hormone, neurotransmitter, or neuropeptide. No big surprise
perhaps. What is astounding is the discovery that these molecules are not limited to the
brain itself since many have been found to circulate throughout the entire body, affecting
various organs and tissues.
A third pathway, linking mind and body is perhaps less well known in traditional medicine and
psychology. While the physical body is the most dense, material, and visible part of the
human constitution, it is complemented by an energy body. The human energy system, some
researchers say, is the ultimate “missing link” connecting mind and body. Intricate in design;
it too has its own anatomy that allows for a more refined level of sensing that extends beyond
the physical senses.
These energy systems include:
1. The electrical activity of the nervous system
2. The energy pathways (meridians and related acupoints used in acupuncture)
3. Energy centers manor and minor (also known as “chakras”)
4. Bio-fields (also known as the “aura”) such as mental and emotional body
The condition of a person’s biofield and chakras directly impact upon physical and mental
health. The chakras, for example, take in a broad spectrum of energetic inputs from the
environment. This subtle energy is first metabolized and then distributed it to the organs and
systems of the body which, above and beyond the nutrients taken in from food, rely upon
this energy for sustenance. If severe and uncorrected, a malfunctioning chakra will, over
time, inevitably produce a physical or mental problem.
While terms such as “chakra” and “meridian” may evoke fanciful “new-age” images, there’s
nothing weird, delusional or “far-out” about the human energy system. It is an intrinsic part of
our nature; so basic, it’s like water to a fish. Ironically, many of the most sophisticated
diagnostic systems used today in conventional medicine, such as the EKG
(electrocardiogram), EEG (electroencephalogram), EMG (electromyelogram), and MRI
(magnetic resonance imaging), are solidly rooted in the understanding that we are electrical
beings.
The human energy field includes these known electrical fields, yet extends beyond them.
Some parts of the human energy system remain undetectable (at least in terms of direct
measurement) by existing scientific instrumentation.
The Emerging Field of Energy Psychology
As a subspecialty that is dynamic and growing yet in its infancy, the field of energy
psychology rests upon a simple, yet profound assumption: that physical matter, the human
body and all psychological processes (thoughts, feelings, attitudes) are more accurately and
fundamentally understood in terms of dynamic fields of energy.
From the perspective of energy psychology and its allied field, energy medicine, “energy is
all there is.” Thus, all physical and psychological health problems can be seen as
fundamentally energy problems. Disease occurs when the energy field is chaotic, incoherent
and imbalanced. Health occurs when the energy field (and in turn, the biochemistry) is
balanced, coherent and charged.
What Does Tapping Do?
If an imbalanced energy field is responsible for distress and disease, it follows that balancing
a field will lead to greater scopes of physical and psychological wellbeing. Some methods are
unique to traditions outside of the field of energy psychology yet mYfor doing so exist. It
depends upon the particular therapist as to which have been incorporated.
Many (though not all) methods of energy psychology require that the client use the index
and middle fingers to tap, with moderate force, at a rate of one tap per second, on the
appropriate acupuncture points.
This is said to energize the associated meridian system. If, in addition to the tapping, you
were to mentally focus on a psychological issue, perhaps a troubling, distressing feeling or
memory, you would typically find that the level of distress begins to ease. If you continue, it
would then be possible to balance, harmonize or clear this psychological imbalance
permanently and completely. This is because the disrupted energy field occupies a more
fundamental level in the causal chain than the chemistry, cognitive, and nervous and brain
systems.

The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Developed by Gary Craig, who studied with Roger Callahan, PhD, having spent a reported
$110,000 for training and equipment.
Premise: the ROOT cause of all negative emotions is a disruption of the human energy field
Streamlined, easily learned by people of any age, occupation: Parents, Counselors, Clergy,
Educators, Salespeople, Therapists, Healthcare professionals, and the highly stressed.
Makes use of standard protocol or “basic recipe” for the treatment of all presenting
problems, rather than specific protocols (in TFT there are over 50) for specific problems.
Omits muscle testing procedures.
Brief self-help with rapid, measurable results. One “round” takes about 90 seconds. Simple
problems resolved in one session.
Safe: no adverse side-effects.
Effective help without the pain or retraumatization or reliving of past problems
High success with most problems or negative emotions. Basic method “recipe” can help 80%
of all people in treating 80% of all problems. Higher success rates possible.....
The Promise of EFT
The promise of EFT lies in its ability to help facilitate deep healing of emotion, and too the
release of much of the baggage (limiting beliefs, unhealthy habits, attitudes, etc.) from the
past that we carry with us, day-in, day-out. This baggage effects our physical and mental
health, and all areas of our life--in our personal relationships with friends and loved ones,
and at work.
Knowing the root cause, the focal point of treatment is to release the energy block and
balance the associated chaotic energy of the HEF and thus eliminate the negative emotion.
That is, the key to completely and permanently resolving psychological problems and
negative emotions is to shift your energy field.
EFT can help:
1) Assist stuck individuals, unresponsive to conventional treatments
2) Alleviate mind-body distress
- traumas
- anxiety
- phobias
- stress
- addictions
- compulsions
- allergies
- personality disorders
3) Promote high-level psychospiritual/ mind-body health & peak performance (physical,
mental and creative).
THE SIGNIFICANCE OF EMOTIONS
* The full-spectrum of feelings define our humanity; they are expressed biochemically
(neuropeptides) and energetically.
* Generally, though not always, negative emotions (anger, hostility, resentment) are
associated with depressed immune system function, high stress hormone levels and
increased risk of illness.
*Generally, positive emotions (gratitude, joy, unconditional love) are associated with
enhanced immune function and low stress hormone levels.
*Generally, feelings that are “negative” have minimal adverse effects, if appropriately
expressed and released. Most people routinely suppress negative emotions for fear of the
reactions of others.
* Since emotions are “(E)nergy-in-MOTION,” suppressed emotions and undigested emotional
traumas that have not been adequately experienced, can contribute to, and sustain disease.
* Suppressed emotional energy lingers. It can electromagnetically bind a limiting (toxic)
belief, and thus make the belief resistance to being changed. Both enslave you.
* “Releasing” trapped emotional energy is different than simply expressing it. It requires a
deeper processing, (such as forgiveness or EFT) that, when complete, is SOMETIMES
associated with a feeling of “lightness” or as a “letting go of a weight.”
What Kind of Problems Can Be Helped Using EFT?
General Functioning:
Ability to relate to others
Coping with everyday stress and anxiety
Enjoying life more
Personal growth and understanding
Self-esteem and confidence
Specific Problems:
Personal fears
Loss and violence trauma
Residual pain from physical injuries
Headaches and back pain
Attention deficit disorder
Allergies
Anger and Frustration
Eating or smoking or drinking problems
Loss of loved ones
Social or public speaking fears
Travel anxiety including fear of flying or driving on the freeways
Nail biting
Cravings
Low moods and mood swings
STEPS IN EFT
1. Identify & rate problem. Recall memory, if possible. Subjective Units of Distress (SUD)
rating, 1 to 10, with 1 representing an absence of negative affect and 10 indicating the
highest level feasible to the individual. Though not required, SUDs establishes benchmark to
allow you to track your progress and uncover aspects of a problem.
2. The Set-up - Repeat 3 times with meaning...
”Even though I have this _______, I deeply and completely accept myself,” while continously
rubbing the sore spot.
3. The Tapping Sequence...Tapping is the repetitive act of using one’s fingers to gently
though firmly activate an acupuncture meridian point. The frequency? Approximately one
tap per second. Tap about 7 times on each of the following energy points (which track
downward on body) while repeating the reminder phrase at each point.
EB- eyebrow point
SE- Side eye
UE- Under eye
UN- Under nose
Ch- between lower lip and edge of chin
CB- just beneath collar bone
UA - under arm
Th- Thumb, IF- Index finger, MF- Middle finger, BF- Babyfinger
KC- Karate chop
4. The 9 Gamut Procedure - continuously tap on the gamut point (make fist, this is the indent
area behind knuckles of baby finger and next finger in) while performing these 9 actions:
(1) Eyes closed (2) Eyes open (3) Eyes hard down right (4) Eyes hard down left (5) Roll eyes
in circle clockwise (6) Roll eyes counterclockwise (7) Hum 2 seconds of a song (8) Count to 5
(9) Hum 2 more seconds
4. Repeat (again) the step 3 sequence above, tapping all points on face, upper trunk of
body and on the hand while repeating the reminder phrase.
5. Re-evaluate intensity (SUDS). If “0” you are done (though you may want to test for other
aspects). If not “0” go additional rounds as needed until “0” is reached. Do this by:
(a) Repeating “basic recipe” but with slight modification:
Set-up statement: “Even though I STILL have SOME of this ______, I deeply and
completely accept myself.
(a) Modifying Reminder Phrase (While Tapping): “remaining ______”
EXAMPLE-
“Even though I still have some of this ANGER TOWARDS MY FATHER, I deeply and
completely accept myself.
EFT Tip- Please Stay Tuned In!
* Attuning simply means focusing on a thought, event or problem as it is experienced in the
body. Without focusing attention, tapping will accomplish little. That is, you (or your client)
must be "tuned in" to the problem. This will bring balance to an otherwise disrupted energy
system. In fact, it is this tuning-in to a problem in the body or energy field that is a common
thread underlying the many methods that have been developed in the field of energy
psychology.
"Tuning in" doesn't require emotional intensity. It only requires the focusing of your attention
on the issue or problem to be resolve. Do this to the best of your ability. When your mind
wanders as it will, keep repeating the reminder phrase and re-focus attention on the area of
the body that seems to relate to the problem. Typically, this would be an area of the body
that seems tight or constricted when you focus on the problem itself. The EFT Reminder
Phrase, “this ______” stated silently or out loud while tapping the various points, is how we
accomplish this..
FOCUSING ATTENTION ON THE ASPECTS OF A PROBLEM
Step One- Determine which aspects of problem are most distressing. Ask, “What bothers
you the most when thinking about this event?”
Step Two- Consider different sensory aspects:
What did you...
- See...
- Feel...
- Hear...
- Taste...
- Smell...
Step Three- Tap on each aspect using “Basic Recipe” described above.
“THE GENERALIZING EFFECT”
After you address a few related aspects to a problem (5-15), the benefits begin to
generalize, or spread, so that all aspects concurrently vanish.
Example: Though a person might have 70 separate memories of being rejected in some
fashion by others, resolving a handful (5-10) of specific memories using EFT will neutralize
all memories.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Cut down a few trees, and you can level an entire forest”
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How Will You Know When Are You Done?......
How do you know when an issue or problem has been completely resolved? The “gold
standard” test is to be able to no longer react to the same events/person/situation/stimulus
that, in the past, triggered a negative emotional reaction. More indirectly, perhaps you were
previously having difficulty sleeping, and now you are not, it may be due to your EFT
progress....
You can assume that progress is being made if you are able to begin to think about the
issue or problem from a different perspective, reflected in the way you or your client
describes the problem, switching to positive vocabulary. Perhaps you are able to even smile
-- if you can genuinely laugh about a formerly serious issue it’s safe to assume progress has
been made.
More subjectively, you may (or may not--it’s not required or important that you do!) feel
“lighter” due to the energy that was released. Or maybe stiff muscles relax, as though warm
water was dissolving or melting away the tension. Maybe a sense of coolness spreads over a
certain area of your body. As one person described it, “I’m just feeling more of a – like a flow
of energy between the right and left side right now. More balanced. My shoulders feel more
balanced.”
From a more technical point of view, an issue has been fully resolved when the following
have occurred:
(1) All the treatment effects are achieved (SUDS=0)
(2) “0 is a True” and there are no active PR’s.
Muscle Test - “there are no active PR’s at this time”
(3) All aspects have been neutralized
(4) As stated initially, the treatment “holds” in relevant real life situations
(SUDS remains 0 under all circumstances)
“Unless treatment continues until the last distress about the last issue is cleared away, it is
possible and even likely that the issue will come back,” says David Grudermeyer, Ph.D.
WHAT IF A PROBLEM COMES BACK?
Consider....
What has “come back” is simply a related issue (aspect) that wasn’t addressed in the first
place for example, another life event that was not recalled and worked through previously.
The original problem was addressed too globally and thus only partially neutralized. “Self-
esteem”....
The cause of the problem is due to a sensitivity to something (an energy toxin) the client ate,
drank, breathed or otherwise came in contact with.
Re-exposure. If a person is exposed to similar problem, it is possible to “buy-back-in” or
passively re-accept.
Real Life Indicators of Progress with An Issue...
You can talk about an issue in a more positive light with no emotional reaction or charge.
Sense of distancing, or disconnecting from original problem
A feeling of “lightness,” a bounce in one’s step...
Humor - the ability to laugh about a formerly serious issue.
Symptoms reduced, eliminated.
Feeling of tension melting, heat releasing, energy flows
