Tools For A New Earth
THE PHYSICS OF MANIFESTING WHAT YOU WANT

The law of attraction says that what we place our attention on, and what we choose (or intend)  to be, do or
have  based on our desires, tends to show up as the people, events, things and circumstances of our lives. Can
the power of attention and intention be understood scientifically?

Perhaps, as some suggest, that woven into the very fabric of the Universe is an energetic matrix that responds
to human thought and intention. As such it is a bridge between the inner world and the outer world. This energy
matrix or "field" is not understood or described by traditional understandings of quantum physics. Nonetheless
it is said to connects and holds together, everything that exists in the Universe and to be particularly responsive
to human emotion and feeling. This is especially true when engaging heart-based feelings such as love,
appreciation, joy. We humans have emerged from this substrate of reality and are constantly interacting with
this field. It is impossible to be passive observers.

Our Universe works like a conscious computer, which operates according to the power of human belief,
emotion, feeling and expectation. When we expect something to happen that is an emotion in our body that sets
into play a series of events that extend beyond our body into the world around us through the field. This in ways
we are only beginning to understand. The software is human emotion and belief.  Human emotion directly
effects DNA in our bodies. These effects extend beyond our body into the world around us. For a presentation by
Gregg Braden on the scientific evidence that supports the existence of this energetic matrix behind all creation,

THE POWER OF ATTENTION - THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE
You may have had the experience while waiting in a check-out line at the store, of someone staring at you. And
you turn around, only to see someone behind you quickly glance away. Scientific researchers have tested this
phenomenon by hooking-up electrodes that measure bodily activity  to one person. Off in another room some
distance away, is a second person who is instructed to simply watch or observe the first, by way of a closed
circuit monitor. What the researchers have repeatedly found is that when the observer begins to focus their
attention on the hooked-up person,  measurable changes in the bodily activity of the observed person occur.
Furthermore, when the observer stops watching, the other person’s vital measurements return to their previous
state.

In quantum physics, the "observer effect" refers to the changes that the act of observation will have on the
phenomenon being observed. The act of observing an electron for example, will alter its path or trajectory.
Meanwhile, fascinating evidence exists that when numbers of people focus their attention on world events
reported widely by the mass media, say the loss of a world figure such as Princess Diana, unusual changes
occur in special monitoring devices located around the world. After the event passes, the readings on these
instruments return to normal until the next reported event.

THE POWER OF INTENTION - THE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE
Holding the mental intention that a thing change has also been studied in the laboratory. Leading-edge scientists
are finding that our intentions have real power. They produce measurable effects in the world around us.

In the previous line of research, for example, where one person is asked to observer another person who is
physically distant, by way of closed-circuit monitor,  the observer was instructed to hold the intention to
influence some body process, say increase or decrease the heart rate, pupil dialation or the skin electrical
activity of the other person. Researchers consistently found that changes occur precisely along the lines – up or
down -- of the expressed intention.

Intention experiments carried out at Princeton University have found that a person's intent to cause a computer
to in effect simulate coming up "heads" versus "tails" as though tossing a coin, showed positive effects. This
over the course of 12-years. The odds against chance of this happening? In the TRILLIONS to one.

Other scientific studies have found that it is possible for a person to hold an intention to change the pH (a
measure of acidic or alkaline state) of water, or to cause a seed to sprout sooner or grow taller, or for cancer
cells in a beaker to self-destruct.  Dan Benor, MD surveyed 131 healing studies and found that 77 achieved
positive results that defied chance (in the order of 1 or 2 in a hundred). Dr. Larry Dossey, MD (see Towards A
New World View,
Click Here)  has stated that the studies cited by Dr. Benor are so solid, “you can take them to
the bank.”

Dean Radin, Ph.D who appeared as a scientific expert on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2007, has conducted an
interesting line of intention research.  In one of many experiments, Dr. Radin asked a group to express good
intentions to enhance the moods of those people eating this specially treated chocolate. When compared with
control chocolate not exposed to such a benevolent intention, Radin found that the overall measured mood in
the “treated” chocolate eaters had improved by 67% over the “untreated” chocolate.

Dr. Radin's work raises some interesting questions: Can a loving intention towards our food (or saying grace)
change the food, making it healthier or more appetizing? Can a mother influence the appeal of the food she
serves her children, so they will eat their veggies?

Dr. William Tiller, PhD. professor at Stanford University, in a line of research which has been successfully
replicated many times in other laboratories, has found that a small group of people can actually imprint a highly
specific intention or desired outcome onto a small unsophisticated electronic device. The device, in turn will
hold that intention for up to 3 months, causing measurable changes in the acid-alkaline balance in water for
example.

Practical ways to make use of these intention-imprinted devices might be to enhance the quality of garden soil
and grow more nutritious, bountiful crops, without the use of harmful pesticides. Or to inexpensively produce
bottled purified water to promote a healthy pH (acid-alkaline balance) in the body. This is important since stress,
poor diet, toxins taken in from the environment etc promote an acidic pH. Acidic conditions in the body are well-
known to promote illnesses such as cancer or infection, which suppresses the ability of the immune system to
do its job. Devices could be created for use in hospital rooms to “produce  a sense of well-being, to enhance
healing rates and to reduce suffering.”

What makes Dr. Tiller uniquely credible, is that he is highly regarded among his peers, is widely published and is
skilled at using the language of physics and mathematics to explain how intention works.

                                           STUDIES ON GROUP INTENTION

The ability of a single person's intention to produce measurable changes in the physical world is well-
documented. There is increasing evidence of the power of group intention. For example, it has been found that
groups of meditators can alter crime and hospitalization rates in a community. In the summer of 1993 a group of
4,000 meditators assembled in Washington, D.C. During this period, FBI Crime statistics, adjusted for certain
variables (precipitation, weekends, and police and community anti-crime activities) and despite near record
summer heat, showed a near 24% drop in crime. The local police department signed off on the study. The
likelihood the changes were due to chance, were statistically speaking, virtually nonexistent. There exist a total
of 51 similar studies, well-designed and appearing in mainstream scientific journals which show positive
results.

If a single person, can use intention to manifest what they want in life, what about a group of people who hold
the same intention?  What positive effects could they create in their community? It stretches the limits of our
imaginations. Could they enhance the mental and physical health and wellbeing of all? And what about a group
of one million? Could a group such as this reduce pollution, curb global warming?  Improve key economic
measures? Reduce social ills such as crime? Avert environmental disasters?

Dr. Tiller has said that the world we live in is not governed by chance and chaos. Instead, he said,  “The grand
scale of world events is determined by the collective, focused intention of the whole of humanity.” Clearly he
believes intention, which operates in accord with the law of attraction, is most powerful!

The Intention Experiments, led by Lynne McTaggart represents the attempt to answer the question: “Is it
possible that a few thousand individuals, located around the world yet joining in identical intention, produce
measurable changes in the activity of plants, animals, humans – even an ecosystem?”

In 2007, a group of 400 people gathered at the Imperial College in London, whose aim was to focus their
intention on one goal – that of increasing the biophoton (light) emission or “glow” of a single germanium leaf. An
image of the leaf, located 5,300 miles away in the laboratory of  Dr. Garry Schwartz, Ph.D professor at the
University of Arizona  was viewed by the intention group on a large screen in the London auditorium. Two near-
identical leaves, also at the Arizona lab, were used for comparison purposes.

After the results were analyzed, Dr. Schwartz found that the leaf intended to glow brighter did!  Since then,
additional experiments have been carried out, each with a different purpose or intended outcome. All have
shown significant results that suggest that once again, our intention can and do effect the world around us.

                           COMMUNICATIONS WITH OPRAH WINFREY

In the Spring of 2007 I, Russ DiCarlo, created a vision board.  To create a vision board is simple: you take your
scissors,  cut out images and phrases that engage you and which represent the fulfillment of your intentions
and desires and paste them onto a large posterboard. The act of creating the vision board is a powerful way to
focus your intention. Looking at it repeatedly, with the feeling that what you want has already manifested, helps
you to stay open to receiving the items you placed on the vision board.

On my vision board, I placed a picture of Oprah and some related text. WIthin 3 short months I was contacted by
Oprah's radio producer who told me Oprah was interested in reading my book Towards A New World View:
Conversations At The Leading Edge while on break from her television show. She had spent some time
"tracking me down" on Oprah's behalf. As expected, the news really got me excited and provided incredible and
tangible evidence about the power of intention. I had never contacted Oprah or her organization in any way. This
remarkable event was entirely "out-of-the-blue." Yet amazing as it was, my invitation to write the forward to
Eckhart Tolle's Power of Now, was also the result of the workings of the law of attraction, so it didn't totally
surprise as much as my friends and family. The law of attraction in action has proven itself in my life so many
times, I simply accept it as "the way things are."

Anyway, in my communication with Oprah, I sent her a summary of some of the most compelling research on
the power of attention and intention. In my coorespondence, I summarized the scientific evidence by saying:

"Oprah, more research is needed here and we’ve just planted the flag on this new yet tantalizing continent of
conscious creation through intention. But for your viewers and listeners who are interested in really working
effectively with the law of attraction to better their lives, these pioneering scientific studies may help.

Certain factors seem to produce more powerful intentions. For example, positive belief, a specific clear focus of
attention, the ability to feel deeply, that the intended activity is already done, and the ability to surrender or let
go of the outcome – all seem to create more “coherent” and thus more powerful intentions. This may allow us
to become more effective in drawing to us, whatever it is we desire in life.

In summary Oprah, compelling evidence exists that we humans are more powerful than we know. Our clear and
focused intentions can produce measurable effects in the physical world.  And collectively, who knows what a
conscious shared intention can do to transform the world? I envision more and more groups coming together to
benefit the whole, expressing powerful intentions that will perhaps create a healthier, more loving and
satisfying world for us all.

It seems reasonable then, even wise, for your viewers and listeners, to learn more about the power of intention
in the laboratory of our own lives."

The Meta-Physics and Physics of Manifesting...

More than likely, you're familiar with the movie/book, "The Secret" which skyrocketed on the bestsellers list
within the span of a year.  The Secret explored the "Law of Attraction" and struck a chord with the general
public, eager to create more fulfilling lives.
Our "inner space" of  thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and emotion are energetic in  nature.  In fact EVERYTHING in
this universean expression or form of energy. Both the very, very large and the very very small --  from
galaxies to atoms -- from plants, planets and people to money and life events.

The law of attraction suggests that as we habitually focus our attention on something, we "send out" energy
which can attract energy of similar quality or vibration. Thinking about something long enough especially with
feeling, acts magnetically to draw what we think about it into our life experience. But only if we are a
vibrational "match" with what we want. For example, if you are feeling desperate you cannot resonate or
vibrationally match the emotion of abundance. You must be able to feel abundantly first, and the actual
abundance will follow.

In this way, that which is within (thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, expectations, feelings) is mirrored by that which
is without - the people, things, events and circumstances of our lives.

The essence of the Law of Attraction in action is simply this:  when you hold your attention on something long
enough and/or intensely enough with belief and expectancy  (be it good or bad) you will tend to magnetically
draw it to you.

That's good news! You can shift from being a victim of circumstance to a co-creator of circumstance, if you
learn how to master the law of attraction by taking time to "go-within" when you are without.. Dr. Dyer
emphasizes our innate ability to draw to ourselves whatever we desire. He says that "... all of us have the
capacity to attract to ourselves what seems to be missing in our lives. Whether it’s a healing, a relationship, a
promotion, or whatever form of abundance you want to manifest in your life, you have much more power to be
able to manifest it than you might think."

Mastering the law of attraction involves three distinct steps:

            1. ASK

                                                             2. BELIEVE

                                                             3. STAY OPEN TO RECEIVE

Ask
Asking involves the clarity of knowing what you want. And ideally choosing to have it, with all of your heart,
soul and mind. Visualizing and "acting as if"  what you want is already a fact in your life, right here, right now.
Feelings play a particularly important role in speeding up the manifestation.

Believe
A belief is the active expectation that something is true. In this case, it is the expectation that you can and will
have what you want. The belief that you are worthy and capable of having it. You know in your heart that what
you want in fact, is on its way into your reality and life. It's interesting that in the bible,  (Matthew 21:22) Jesus
said “Whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” The belief and expectation that taking a
pill will help improve your health, and then it does, even when there is no active ingredient present in the pill,
is an example of the placebo effect, a well-studied phenomenon in modern medicine.

Stay Open To Receive
To stay open to receive means staying in harmonic resonance with what you want. You are a "match"
energetically in thought, feeling and expectation and that contrary or negative thoughts and feelings about
what you want are outweighed by the positive. Focusing your attention on what you want (rather than what you
don't want), experiencing gratitude for receiving (in advance) what you want, taking time to visualize what you
want with all your senses, and just plain feeling good about your life in general are all ways of staying open to
receive.

As we begin to "line-up" our thoughts, feelings and overall energy, the law of attraction begins to work for us.
But what we want doesn't magically appear, presto-chango.

What typically happens is that we begin to get creative ideas that guide us towards what we want. We bump
into people who are in a position to help us get what we want. We may get unexpected phone calls "out-of-the-
blue" that advance our position. Or maybe our attention is drawn to a piece of important information that will
help us substantially. Synchronicities, or meaningful coincidences and twists of fate which work to our
advantage, begin to occur more frequently.

Yet even if we work with the law of attraction, taking action remains critical to success. Yet now, it is inspired
action that has been "pre-paved" by our intention that makes things seem effortless, graceful and effective.
Action that it moves us directly towards what we want, even if at times,  what our intuition guides us to do fails
to intellectually make sense at the time.

In summary, the law of attraction states: The vibration we emit is made up of our conscious and unconscious
energy. We attract into our lives people and situations that have similar vibrations to our own. Spiritual law is
exact. The Universe provides mirrors for us to look into. Look around you and note the people and
circumstances you find yourself with. Everything in your life is a vibrational match with your inner thoughts,
feelings, beliefs and expectations -- though much of what we send-out, exists in our subconscious mind and
may not be obvious to us from our conscious perspective.
Much of the information discussed in the movie was drawn from the work of
Wallace Wattles and his book "The Science of Getting Rich" (presented in
the
Spirituality of Wealth Program, click here) and from  the compiled work
of Abraham as presented by Esther Hicks.

Popular author, Dr. Wayne Dyer has written a book called "The Power of
Intention" (made into a PBS television special) that was substantially
influenced by the Abraham/Hicks material. According to Abraham/Hicks, we
live in a participatory,  energetic/vibrational Universe where "like attracts
like" and birds-of-a-feather-flock-together.
We are not powerless victims who must accept
whatever life brings us. To the contrary, we
are powerful creators who can learn to shape
our lives the way we want them to be.

We each hold the power to live a happier,
healthier, successful, fulfilling life if we can
learn to (1) swap self-defeating attitudes,
beliefs, emotional-patterns and intentions for
ones that support us and (2) focus our
attention on what we want in life, as opposed
to what we don't want.
